Programming Language Research Engine

The Programming Language Research Engine (PLRE) is a custom search engine
created using the Google co-op service
for searching primarily academic sites related to programming language theory, design, and
implementation. The PLRE is designed for researchers, students, professors, language
designers, and language implementers who need scholarly information for advanced
information pertaining to programming languages.
The PLRE currently searches about 200 sites, including the Citeseer
computer science article database, home pages of numerous reputable researchers
in the field of programming language, roughly 100 programming language home
pages and/or specifications,
and dozens of online text books. The engine emphasizes langauges which are cited frequently
in computer science literature.
The PLRE also offers the ability to either refine your search
to specific topics, or to broaden your search to use Google Scholar,
Google CS Curriculum Search,
or the entire web. Simply perform a search and the option to refine or broaden your search will be made
available to you.
The Google Co-op service which drives this engine is still in Beta. As a result there
will be some growing pains over the coming months as Google works out the kinks in the system.
If you have any suggestions for how to improve the search engine (e.g.
sites to include, sites which need their rankings boosted, sites to exclude,
or new topics) please consider contributing to the
PLRE Google discussion group.
